其实论文发在哪里，主要看主要作者的出身。如果主要作者是做systems的，很可能会把东西发在OSDI/SOSP/EuroSys等等。如果主要作者是数据库的，就会选择在SIGMOD/VLDB。如果是networking的，就会选择在SIGCOMM/NSDI ... 现在Big Data了，这三个领域的人都做和传统数据库相关的东西。系统领域的很多会议
谈到助人，我想到两个人：一个是 Google 早期华人工程师，义务给新员工培训 Google 工作环境和 Google Coding Style；另外一个是 Baidu 的早期老工程师，花大量时间研究最近几年的论文和技术，整理好，分类好，然后和年轻工程师分享。这些事情都不是他们的工作，他们花大量自己的时间，帮助新人。
